Calling all Cambridge / Jeffersonville teens and seniors!
The Varnum Memorial Library is excited to announce a new program, “Cambridge Court - Where Seniors and Teens Exchange Tales.” Through this program, teens will interview and videotape local seniors as they share tales of their life in Cambridge and Jeffersonville, with a focus on early and middle year memories...life’s best and worst times!
The film will premiere at the Varnum Memorial Library with footage shared at the Harvest Dinner and other local events. Families can also request their family members' legacy to be privately used.
TEENS - Are you interested in learning videography?
To participate in this program, join us for a free videography course on August 14th, hosted by Access TV staff, where you will learn videotaping, positioning, lighting and editing. Upon completion of the course, you will utilize your new skills to videotape Varum Memorial Library’s seniors as they share their stories. On August 18th at 4 PM, we will brainstorm and schedule videotaping dates and times, and practice footage at the Varnum.
Details:
-Cambridge students enrolled in grades 7-12 will serve as interviewees, camera operators and film editors with adult supervision.
-Students and adult coordinator will brainstorm a list of questions to be asked as they pertain to early and middle year memories, life’s best and worst times.
-Special note: One question asked by each student will be around the seniors experience during covid lockdown. The aim is to help seniors of Cambridge be better serviced in the future.
-Students may sit with any family member during an interview but my not speak for them.
