The Varnum Memorial Library is sponsoring free tax preparation in partnership with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide to low and moderate income residents of any age - especially if you are 50 or older or can’t afford paid tax preparation.  Our volunteer counselors are IRS trained and certified to assist you in filing certain tax forms and schedules, as well as the Vermont State Tax return (including Property Tax Adjustment or Renter Rebate).  Appointments will be scheduled for Mondays: February 14, 21 and March 14, 21 and 28 at 9:30 am and 11:30 am.  Our counselors are fully vaccinated and to keep everyone safe we are asking you to wear a mask to your appointment.  Each time slot can accommodate two taxpayers.  To schedule an appointment call the Varnum Library at 802-644-2117 or email varnumrequests@gmail.com.  Appointments will be first come first serve and there are no walk in appointments.  Once your appointment is confirmed we ask that you stop by the library to pick up a packet of information and forms needed for your appointment.  Library hours are

Tuesday and Wednesday 9AM - 6PM;

Thursday 8AM-6PM and Friday

Saturday 9AM-3PM.
